Quality Measures
Steve Goeser
President & CEO,
Methodist Hospital
Scientific studies have shown that patients with certain medical and surgical conditions benefit from specific tests, treatments and medications, many of which need to be delivered in a timely way to get optimal benefit.
When asked to describe quality care at Methodist Hospital, I can point to our outstanding technology, clinical protocols and patient outcomes. I can also tell you about Steve Kirschman, one of our parking valets.
Steve knows that folks who come to a hospital may be having a tough day. He greets everyone with a smile, gives every patient and visitor prompt service and full attention.
Not long ago, a car drove past the Emergency Department and pulled up to the valet stand at our front door. The panic-stricken driver had a passenger, his father, slumped over in the seat beside him. Instantly, Steve alerted the E.D., lifted the gravely ill man into a wheelchair and raced him to our caregivers. Major arteries to the patient’s heart were blocked, and every second mattered. The cath lab team tells me that Steve is a lifesaver.
We are proud of our care, which includes exceptional performance on door-to-balloon times and other national benchmarks of quality outlined on this Web site. We are also very proud of our team, which includes good people like Steve.
At Methodist Health System, we work together as a team to review recommended guidelines and standardize their best practices to ensure that all patients in the system get the care that has been shown to be of benefit as soon as possible.
We are pleased to share our scores on these
nationally-measured benchmarks:
